Mr. Dennis Duso, Marysville Director of Bands August 1989 - June 2022
A surprise retirement party was given for Mr. Duso and attended by well over 600 current, alumni band members, friends and family. One of the highlights of the event was the playing of the Marysville Fight Song! The participants were lead in by past drum majors. Those participating were from the Middle School Bands all the way to members of his first band in Marysville.
In addition to the fight song, presentations were made by Mayor Wayne Pyden, Pastor Curtis on behalf of Mary Lou Coleman, President of the University of Michigan, Mr. Joe Pavlov, presenting Mr. Duso's own Senior X and also by his three children.
In addition to the music and speeches, Mr. Duso was able to receive several hundred guests that waited in the receiving line.
The outpouring of support shown to Mr. Duso during his tenure in Marysville has made his career one in which he never felt he was going to work. In his own words, "HE IS THE RICHEST MAN IN MARYSVILLE!"
